today there was bright sunshine that if you really used your imagination you could detect a hint of spring! Perfect for quilts on clotheslines and somehow these thoughts...
The day began in a slight mist. The trees were embellished as though they understood that words are pithy at times.
She kept staring at the horizon that was slowly becoming more transparent.
She hung out the girls quilts. She knew the sun would eventually shine it's brilliance, releasing it's super, stain removing power.
She loved the way the quilts clung to the line, flapping regally, close to the sky.
The pale, pastel colours on the quilts seemed to dazzle the stark, white and blue world.
She lingered a while; admiring their simplicity, the billowing in the sunshine, the fresh scent she anticipated.
Somehow the lucid way the quilts moved bolstered her faith and courage.
Somehow all that waving and holding on was something she understood.
The day began in a slight mist. She kept her eyes on the horizon, waiting for clarity, and the certain illumination.

beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHi Lucy...Glad you could hang out quilts. They are pretty, too! That would be impossible here, at this time, because they would freeze into solid masses! Right now, spring is a memory from the past and a hope for the future. Take care and Happy Valentine's Day. Susan
ReplyDeleteWhat a joy to see you hanging out your quilts in the winter, with snow all around...I have hung clothes on the line with snow on the ground too..but not so poetically, I must say.
ReplyDeleteI often remind myself that someday God will tell us all we need to know..One of the first questions I will ask Him..."Why mosquitoes?" xo
Thank-you Kerrie, Susan and Sherri. :))xo
DeleteHi Lucy,
ReplyDeleteLove the title of this post! Your soft and pretty quilts remind me of my 'pale and pastel' days, as opposed to 'bright and bold', when foggy interference can cloud my own 'clothesline' of a soul.
Beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing!
Happy Valentine's Day!
