In the midst of an intense deep freeze here....
but silver linings seem to find their way through to my soul somehow...
welcomed daughter Katrina home for a week as she took a break from her studies and life in the city....
love hearing her play the piano again...
white flowers in the winter....could not resist them even if I tried...
than I read this timely post...
simply adore the crisp white blooms...
warm muffins on mornings when buses don't run and schools are closed due to cold...
hanging laundry out in the winter....yep. I'm that crazy....but look I don't have to go out to hang it up....my clothes line comes inside...
pretty neat...huh?
" the winter sun has gold in it"...is a quote my mother in law taught me....
and last I 'll share my concluding line with a conversation I had with my daughter this week...
"I have learned there is always something in your life that keeps you on your knees....always something that keeps us from being okay on our own....
somehow only there do we gain proper perspective"....
Warmest of wishes to you and all your week brings....Lucy~

Here in the country we hand our laundry all year round :0) Enjoy your day Lucy...
ReplyDeleteSo many great truths in this post. Flowers can be such a blessing, especially when we're buried under an endless amount of snow.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Lucy, of the cold outside, and the warmth inside. Your home is a little haven of family, flowers, food, and FUN!:))

Isn't it nice that we find those small pleasures even on winter days? The warm muffins look so good. I bet your kids enjoyed them. I remember loving the days when the kids got to stay home from school. I didn't realize it was that cold in your area that the schools were closed. I haven't seen a clothes line in such a long time, what a sight. And please tell your daughter to keep playing the piano. I took lessons when I was a child and never stuck with it. I can only play a couple songs today.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your little luxuries, Lucy. They give us a lift and a smile.
love, ~Sheri
Having your daughter home...what a blessing!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you Lucy.
And those white blooms...what a beautiful reminder of spring and summer.
I love the way your clothesline works! Awesome!
I can't wait to hang mine out again...if I did now, the snows so high that the dogs would just pee on my sheets. Lol So I'll wait.
Love & winter hugs to you my friend.
I already have a trip to St Jacobs planned for June!
All my heart,
Deborah xoxo
